Making the monthly nut

It's not what you think, Spaniards.  :-)

"Making the monthly nut" is an expression we use here.  Basically, it means that you need to make enough money to cover your expenses.  I know what it takes to make my monthly nut...in order to keep everything going well money-wise in my life.

Torbe's recent blog posts have got me wondering what on earth he has to pull in to make his monthly nut.  It must be tremendous.  This is what started me on this path: Torbe got an iPad 2! Very exciting.

He had the first version and absolutely fell in love with it, so it is no surprise at all that he got version two.  Even though he likes to act like he is a cheapass (which he kind of is, but only with regard to his own personal needs)...he seems to be extremely generous with those around him.

For example: Las Chicas de Torbe.  He is always hauling their asses out somewhere.  They go to discos, they go out to eat (constantly), they go to some kind of a spa.  I really don't understand the spa concept.  I guess it is because Spanish people don't have their own hot tubs?  They go to sit in jacuzzi tubs elsewhere as a result?  You can do that here too, of course, but it is usually in conjunction with other beauty treatments.  I find the Spanish concept very confusing.

But whatever.  Who knows how much it costs to take a half dozen porn chicks to this Spanish spa?  But it can't possibly be cheap.

And on top of all the freebies he hands out to his porn chicks, he of course also pays them for their...um, efforts?  And that doesn't look cheap, either.

I am very impressed at Torbe's ability to cover his overhead.  He really must be a good businessman...even though he wears track suits all the time, hides Ramona in her pizza bag when he takes the train to Barcelona, and apparently doesn't buy new socks very often.  :-)
